Pieces. And Measures For Nothing – Preston Buchtel

This show consists of mixed-media assemblages and several large paintings. With degrees in architecture as well as fine art painting, Preston’s work demonstrates his skill with color and structure.

Though not necessarily colorful his paintings feature dark deep color saturating the canvas to make for an earthy background upon which to work.  Incorporated in one of the paintings was a six inch glass bottle with soil a the bottom.  A plant sprouted from. that soil during the exhibition, further emphasizing Buchtel’s works organic nature in choice of material, color and structure.
